VILLAGE OF MONTICELLO FIREHOUSE

A new firehouse was built for the Village of Monticello when the department was forced to relocate due to the widening of the state road in front of the existing building. LMV designed the new facility to include office space, sleeping quarters, and a central communication room. The large multi-purpose room, designed with a soffitted and vaulted ceiling and pendant lighting, has an attached commercial kitchen and is used for training and functions. The site also includes a museum that displays an antique fire truck and provides educational information and the history of the fire department. Brick, decorative split-face block, and HardiPlank fiber-cement siding make up the exterior architecture of the firehouse. The roof complements the facade with asphalt shingles and standing seam metal accents. The garage features a working hose tower and large apparatus bays, including a wash bay. Both the bays and training room have radiant floor heating. A monument housing the firemen’s bell from their previous location stands in front of the new firehouse.
