SAKAC HALL – MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE
Sakac Hall is the first phase result of a campus-wide Residential Life Facilities Study conducted by Liscum, McCormack, VanVoorhis in 1998 for Mount Saint Mary College. The rooms are a mix of private doubles and four-to-six person suites, all of which have private bathrooms that are sub-divided to allow for multi-person use. The construction is five-stories of brick and block masonry with a metal trussed roof, designed to complement the surrounding historic district.
Sakac Hall incorporates passive and active security system design elements. The system features a central security station, located on the primary entry level, which monitors all CCTV, door access controls, and fire alarm systems. There is also a primary reception lounge with kitchen, main elevator lobby, mail center, and Resident Director Suite. Among the many amenities provided are: lounges with quiet study carrels, fitness room, smart classroom/movie lounge, computer center, and laundry facility. The building is equipped with a heating and cooling fan coil system, CATV, and telephone. Resident students can easily access the campus-wide computer network from the residence hall via a hardwired system or the Wireless Academic Network.
