LAWLOR BUILDING

Originally a one room school house and then used as Patterson’s town hall, the Lawlor Building, named after the late former Town Supervisor, was once in a state of deterioration. With funding from the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Economic Development Corporation, the Hudson Valley Trust and Liscum, McCormack, VanVoorhis were able to perform a full restoration. The building’s interior was completely demolished, and its exterior façade was stripped. The Lawlor Building is now entirely renovated in the Federalist architectural style and provides office space for local not-for-profit and community groups including: Putnam Chapter of the American Red Cross, Friends of the Great Swamp, Fraternal Order of Police, Patterson Historical Society, Putnam Community Foundation, and Hudson Valley Trust.
