GARDEN STREET HOUSING

These late nineteenth century structures are located in the Mill Street Historic District of Poughkeepsie, New York. The project involved the complete reconstruction of seven single-family Queen Anne style row houses which were severely delapidated or near collapse. The houses were re-designed as seven two-family townhouses with a two story home owner unit and a one bedroom rental on the third floor. They were restored using matching ornamental wood trim and siding, brick veneer cleaning, and an ashlar stone base. The project received a 2005 Excellence in Historic Preservation Award given by the Preservation League of New York State.
